Marketing Concepts

                     The Marketing Concepts are also known as  the History of  Marketing are also known as the Marketing Philosophies. The concept is also taken as the way of thinking .It is looking at the marketing activity on the philosophy in the mind of those who are in the field.


 Therefore there are five alternative concepts under which organisations conduct the marketing activities.

Types of Concepts:

 1) Production concept 

2) The product concept 

3) The selling concept 

4) The Marketing concept 

5) The societal concept 


Let us discuss these five concepts with which marketing strategies can be designed:-

1) Production Concept - Supply creates Demand 



  ➡The production concept is the idea that consumers will favour products that are available and affordable.
 ➡ Here the concentration is on improving production and distribution.
 ➡ In short, produce more - earn more 

⭕Example:-
       🔶Henry Ford started by producing cheap and mass - produced cars.
       🔶 McDonald's and fast food chains aim to ace  their operations.

2) Product Concept - Customers want features



➡The product Concept is the idea that consumers will buy such products that offer the most quality , performance and features.
 ➡Here, the concentration is on product improvement.
➡ In short ,earn more by providing quality product + unique features at lower cost.

 ⭕ Example 
       🔶 Apple released their new Apple card.
       🔶  Premium offers are offered by the marketers Now a days , like the Amazon prime , Netflix , Hotstar + Disney.

3) Selling Concept - Convince Customers 



➡ The selling concept is idea that consumers will not by any of the firms product unless it undertakes  a large-scale selling efforts.
➡ Here the concentration is on sales - transaction rather than long term profitable relationships.
➡ In short, convince more - earn more 

⭕Example
       🔶Insurance policies.

4) Marketing Concept - Customer Satisfaction



➡ In the Marketing Concept  the idea is to know the needs and wants of target Markets and delivering the desired satisfaction better than the competitors.
➡ Here the concentration is on customer needs and providing right products.
➡ In short, fulfill customer needs and wants - earn more.


⭕ Example 
      🔶Coke vs Pepsi war.

     🔶Samsung opened their new  flagship store in New York.

 5) Societal Concept - Society and consumer




➡The societal concept holds  that marketing strategy should deliver value to customers in a way that maintains and improves both consumers and Society's well being.
➡ Here the concentration is on society and Consumers improvements.
➡ In short, Solve a society problem - earn more.

⭕Example
    🔶Samsung technical school is a project that empowers girls to fulfill their dreams. 
    🔶AVON a beauty and cosmetics company has raised million dollars for the National breast cancer foundation by the sale of pink ribbons.
   🔶Colgate which provides scholarship to student to fulfill their dreams.
